Lighting Simplified.

Application guide / wall packs

Start with where the light needs to go.

A wall pack is not just “X watts on a wall.” Distribution, mounting height, nearby property, controls, and the existing housing determine whether the fixture solves the application or creates glare and spill.

Full cutoff

Keep the useful light below the fixture

Entrances, perimeters, residential-adjacent sites, projects with spill-light concerns.

Forward throw

Push coverage farther away from the wall

Loading zones, service areas, deeper perimeter coverage, security applications.

Dusk-to-dawn

Automate ordinary nighttime operation

Simple perimeter applications where a photocell is part of the operating requirement.

Adjustable / architectural

Aim or visually integrate the fixture

Projects where direction, facade appearance, or unusual mounting changes the selection.

Distribution before wattage

The beam shape determines whether the output is useful.

A lower-output forward-throw family can outperform a higher-output full-cutoff family when the target is farther from the building—and the opposite is true when spill must be controlled.

Mounting conditionTypical applicationSelection focus
Lower mountingEntry / doorway / pedestrian zoneControl glare and avoid over-lighting the immediate area.
Mid-height facadeGeneral perimeter / loading / securityDistribution shape and projection from the wall become more important.
Tall facadeLarge perimeter / industrial exteriorHigher-output families may be needed; photometrics become increasingly useful.
Keep the housing

Retrofit the existing wall pack

Consider retrofit when the housing, lens/door, mounting, and surrounding wall are still in good condition and the labor savings justify keeping the enclosure. Confirm the internal space, socket/wiring, thermal conditions, photocell, and required listing before choosing the kit.

Retrofit guide
Replace the housing

Choose a new wall-pack family

Full replacement makes sense when the housing is deteriorated, distribution needs to change, controls need to be integrated, or the project calls for a different architectural profile. Compare the new fixture as a complete system—not just as a wattage replacement.

Site questions

The useful project brief is mostly about context.

Give us the wall, the target area, and the operational requirements. We can narrow the product families from there.

Where should the light land—and where must it not land?
Mounting height and distance to property line or adjacent use
Full-cutoff / shielding requirement
Photocell included, external, or not required
Motion sensor or network-control requirement
Voltage and surge-protection requirements
Wet-location / IP rating
Existing housing suitable for retrofit or not
Finish / architectural appearance
Warranty and service expectations
Light trespass / dark-sky concern?

Tell us about adjacent property, roadway, residential exposure, or project-specific shielding requirements before product selection.
